Fanatec Clubsport DD vs DD+
Our Verdict
Simply put, the Fanatec Clubsport DD+ is better than the DD as it has 15 Nm vs 12Nm.
Another improvement of Clubsport DD+ is that it is compatible with Playstation, both 4 and 5, so if you play on console maybe you are more interested in this one.
However, if you play on PC there is not much difference between the 12 and 15Nm of both steering wheels, so in our point of view the Fanatec Clubsport DD is more interesting.

In this table we find 3 major differences. Price, FFB strength and cross-platform compatibility.
The price of the Clubsport DD+ is 200$ more expensive than the Clubsport DD which costs 799€.
The force feedback force is 15 Nm on the DD+ and 12 Nm on the DD. It is a difference that is not very noticeable when playing. Also in my case I don’t use 100% of the FFB so I don’t use the 12 Nm.
If you want the base to be PS5 compatible you will have to go for the 15Nm Fanatec Clubsport DD+.

Driving sensations
While the 3 Nm difference may be significant in high fidelity simulations, for most users the 12 Nm model will be more than sufficient. It is important to note that, unlike the previous CSL DD, the ClubSport DD does not allow upgrades to increase the FFB.
In-game performance
The difference in torque influences the feel and accuracy of the force feedback:
- ClubSport DD: With 12 Nm, it offers an immersive experience, conveying asphalt textures and vehicle dynamics in detail.
- ClubSport DD+: With 15 Nm, it provides even more detailed and powerful feedback, ideal for those seeking maximum precision and realism in endurance races or intense competitions.
For PlayStation users, DD+ is optimized to work with Gran Turismo 7, offering seamless integration with its physics and telemetry.
Cross-platform compatibility
Another key point of differentiation is console compatibility:
- ClubSport DD: Compatible with PC and Xbox (when using a Fanatec Xbox compatible steering wheel).
- ClubSport DD+: Compatible with PC, Xbox (with appropriate steering wheel) and PlayStation 4/5. It is an attractive option for those who play on PlayStation, as it is officially compatible with Gran Turismo 7.
If you are a PlayStation user, the choice is clear: the DD+ is the only compatible option. If you play on PC or Xbox, the ClubSport DD might be sufficient and cheaper.
If you play on Playstation you might be interested in the Fanatec GT DD Extreme pack which includes the DD+ base with a Gran Turismo edition ring.
Design and construction
Both models share the same design, with a robust metal housing and front and side mounting options. They are designed for stability and durability, ensuring optimal performance even in the most intense racing sessions.
The main aesthetic difference between them lies in the color of the circular outline at the rear: the ClubSport DD has a bright yellow outline, while the DD+ has a blue one.
Full Force Technology
Both models incorporate Fanatec’s new Full Force technology, which converts in-game sound and telemetry into vibrations and haptic feedback to enhance immersion. However, to date, no game fully supports this technology, although integration is expected in titles such as iRacing and Gran Turismo 7.
