    Our Verdict

From our point of view, we like the Fanatec better. The price of the Logitech G Pro is too expensive considering that the steering wheels work quite similar.

It is true that the Logitech G Pro has a little more power which is a plus. So if you don’t mind spending more money I recommend this one.

As for the platforms on which each steering wheel works, both are compatible with Playstation and PC, but in the case of the Logitech Pro, it is also compatible with XBOX.

Of course, in the case of Logitech you have to select for which platform you want it before buying it. Since the steering wheel for playstation is not compatible with the XBOX steering wheel.

Here is a summary of the features:

The Logitech G Pro steering wheel includes the steering wheel base and the steering wheel, while the pedals are sold separately. Its price is 999$ and the Logitech G Pro pedals 399$. If you buy them together, the total is 1398€.

In comparison, the Fanatec GT DD Pro offers multiple options:

    • The basic package costs less than $700 and includes the flywheel base with 5 Nm of torque and two pedals (accelerator and brake) without load cell kit. Both the hoop and pedals are basic but ok if you don’t want to spend a lot. You can upgrade in the future.
    • The premium package would consist of adding the boost 180 to have 8Nm and Fanatec V3 pedals with load cell. In this case it would cost you 699$ + 149$ + 399$, a total of 1247$. A similar price to the Logitech.

In any case, Fanatec offers custom options to create your own package, making it much more versatile than the Logitech.

The Logitech G Pro base is made of durable plastic and weighs 7 kg. It has vents on the front and rear and a fan to cool the base. It offers 11 Nm of torque.

In contrast, the Fanatec GT DD Pro base is more compact, weighs 4.9 kg and has plastic on the front and rear, with aluminum on the sides acting as a heat sink. This base supports 8 Nm of torque.

The most notable difference between the two docks is the size. The Logitech dock is larger and can only be desktop mounted on a racing simulator. In comparison, the Fanatec dock allows for more mounting options.

Both bases can be mounted on the table using a bracket included in the package, although mounting the Fanatec bracket is a bit more complex.

The Logitech G Pro steering wheel has a diameter of 300 mm and a brushed metal and perforated leather finish. It has high quality buttons, with a joystick instead of a D-pad and two rotary knobs. On the back, it has two analog sticks and two magnetic shifters.

TheFanatec steering wheelis slightly smaller at 280mm and is made of fiberglass reinforced plastic. The controls, while functional, have a more plastic feel compared to the Logitech. It has an OLED display and an LED rev strip.

In this section, it must be said that I like the Logitech ring better, because of the leather and the quality of the buttons and cams.

If we compare the Fanatec V3 pedals and the Logitech G Pro pedals, I’ll go with the Fanatec pedals.

Both steering wheels have three pedals (clutch, load cell brake and accelerator). The Fanatec pedals are made of steel and offer a solid feel. The brake pedal has a 90 kg load cell sensor and is height adjustable.

Logitech pedals also have a premium look, with a 100 kg load cell on the brake pedal and offer more adjustment options without the need for tools.

But it must be said that the pedals that come with the 699€ Fanatec kit leave something to be desired. They are fine if you are a beginner, but it is the first thing I would change as soon as I could afford it.

    Testing and driving experience

Both steering wheels offer an excellent driving experience. The force feedback is very accurate, and the feel of corners, bumps and track conditions is remarkably detailed. If you are coming from older steering wheels, you will notice that the experience is much smoother and more detailed.

Fanatec’s 8 Nm of torque is sufficient for a realistic racing experience, while the Logitech, at 11 Nm, provides a more intense feeling of force, although it might be too much for some people if you drive for long periods.

The good thing is that the maximum force can be adjusted on both steering wheels, so if 11 Nm seems too much you can lower it to 8 in the case of Logitech.

The Logitech G Pro has the “TrueForce” feature, which is first introduced on the G923. This feature enhances feedback by making the steering wheel “come alive” with game conditions and engine vibrations, providing a much more immersive experience. It is a unique feature on the market that is not available from Fanatec.

Logitech Pro vs Fanatec DD Pro: FINAL CHOICE

Logitech Pro vs Fanatec DD Pro? Both steering wheels are excellent and won’t let you down, but the Logitech G Pro stands out due to having a bit more oomph.

However, the price of the G Pro is quite a bit higher compared to Fanatec products, which offers more options and customization at more competitive prices.

So for me the best steering wheel is the Logitech G Pro, however I would buy the Fanatec, because it is quite a bit cheaper and customizable. You can start with a good kit for 699€ and then improve it until you have a real beast.

If you’re a PC gamer, you can mix and match Logitech products with Fanatec, but if you’re a console gamer, note that support for consoles varies depending on the wheel you choose.

In summary, although the Logitech G Pro has a superior experience in terms of feedback, Fanatec is still a very solid choice and the leading brand in Simracing especially for those looking for customization.

    Where to Buy

In case you decide to buy one or the other, it is important to choose well where to buy it. In the case of the Logitech we would choose the Amazon website that offers a very good sales, warranty and return service. In addition you could read the opinion of all the users who have bought it.

If you opt for Fanatec, I regret to tell you that there are not many websites that sell these steering wheels, so you will have to go to the page Fanatec official website. But well I have bought in this page and I have not had problems. Do not panic if you see it in English, you can give the right mouse button and translate the site into Spanish.
