Moza R5 vs Cammus C5 Steering Wheel
Our Verdict
From my point of view the Moza R5 works better than the Cammus C5. The biggest difference is the pedals, I feel much more precision with the Moza pedals. Cammus pedals are a little bit of bad quality.
But if we consider the price, the Cammus C5 is much better value for money than the Moza.
Outstanding Common Features:
- Both flywheels have a similar force feedback strength.
Cammus vs Moza Wheels
As for the analysis of the hoops, they both have the same size of 28 cm with a D shape.
The Cammus hoop is finished in hand-stitched leather and has good quality. And the Moza R5 also has a quality finish.
What the Moza R5 is superior in is the cams, they are large and precise. In addition, the feel is spectacular.
The Cammus C5 cams on the contrary are quite bad, very small and made of plastic.
In any case it is advisable to use simracing gloves to drive and keep the leather and the seams of the rim in perfect condition.
In terms of buttons, both are very good. The R5 has a wide variety of buttons with a 4-way crosshead. The Cammus C5 has more buttons and includes rotary buttons, so I like it better in this respect.
In addition, the Cammus has a display with a speed and rev counter.
Cammus C5 vs Moza R5 Which one has better pedals?
The Moza R5 pedals are the SR-P Lite and for me they are much better than the Cammus C5.
The accelerator pedal responds precisely and without delay, and the brake pedal, equipped with a load cell, offers a linear resistance that facilitates adaptation to the system.
On the other hand, I didn’t like the pedals of the C5, they have a lot of travel on both the accelerator and the brake and I find them quite uncomfortable to achieve perfect braking.
Neither of the two pedalboards has a clutch pedal, but they can be added without problems.
Besides, you can change the pedals, you don’t have to use the ones that come in the bundle.
Driving Sensations
The truth is that the Cammus C5 surprises with its great force feedback that has peaks of 7 Nm and the truth is noticeable if we compare it with the Moza R5, it has a little more force.
The Moza with its 5.5 Nm also works spectacular.
In this section it is difficult for me to choose one of the two, so we will say that the C5 is a little better but I would not rule out the Moza R5 for this reason.
Moza and Cammus Bases
What strikes me most aboutthe Cammus C5 is that it has no base! It takes up super little space.
The Moza R5 base is quite small but takes up more space.
The Cammus has a small external fan that takes up almost no space.
The worst disadvantage of Cammus is that you can’t change the rim, you would have to buy another one just like the one you have, while in Moza you can upgrade the rim.
Also all rims and pedals are compatible with Moza bases, such as the R3, R5, R9, R12. So if you want to jump to a better flywheel you can scale little by little buying components.
Compatibility with different platforms
Both Cammus and Moza are not compatible with consoles like Playstation or XBox. So they can only be used with PC for the moment.
So if you have PS5 or XBOX 360 you better forget about this steering wheel.
Where to Buy Cammus C5 and Moza R5
After analyzing all the websites where you can buy these flyers I have to say that the cheapest is to buy directly on the website of Moza or Cammus.
These websites have the cheapest price because they are shipped directly from the manufacturer. But do not worry if you see the websites in English you can translate them with the right mouse button and “translate to Spanish” in this way it will be much easier for you to buy safely.
If you want to buy from Spain and have it shipped quickly, the best thing to do is to buy from Amazon or Simufy. The only problem is that you will have to pay a little more for your flyers.
Here are all the links for you to choose from.
On the Cammus website you have a 5% discount with the code “simracingpro”.
Moza R5 vs Cammus C5: Final Recommendation
Moza R5 vs Cammus C5? If you don’t mind spending more money, we recommend the Moza R5, as it has more versatility, you can upgrade pedals and hoop in the future. On the Cammus you can only upgrade the pedals.
Now if you want the best value for money, the Cammus C5 offers a lot for very little money.
For only 300€ to have a direct drive steering wheel with these features is crazy. So if you are just starting out and don’t want to spend a lot of money we recommend the Cammus C5.
