In this article we analyze and compare the Thrustmaster T598 vs T300 RS GT.
Comparison Table – Key Differences
Having seen the technical differences, you are probably wondering which flywheel is better. If we see the force of both flywheels it is clear that the T598 has more force, since it has 5 Nm of force.
In the case of the T300 RS I had trouble finding somewhere where they put the exact force, but in the end I found an analysis with real tests that indicates that the Thrustmaster T300RS has 3.9 Nm of force, which is not bad at all.
It should be noted that both the Thrustmaster T300 and T598 are compatible with both PS3, PS4, PS5 and PC.

Our Verdict
In our opinion, the new Thrustmaster T598 is better than the old T300. It is obvious, it has more power, better technology such as the direct drive.
However, the T300 is still a spectacular steering wheel and also comes with better pedals such as the T3PA, which include a clutch, while the T598 pedals are more basic and do not include a clutch.

Flywheel hoops
As you can see in the pictures, both rings are designed with Playstation specific buttons.
They have more or less the same amount of buttons, although in our point of view the buttons of the T598 are better placed. They are more easily accessible with the thumb.
As for the quality of the two hoops it is similar, taking into account that they are single hoops. In my opinion the T300 is a little better, it has the metal faceplate and is very robust.
The T300 RS hoop is good, but it is also much heavier. It weighs almost 1200 g versus 800 g for the T598. With a lighter hoop, you feel more force feedback. And also, the diameter of the T598 is larger (300 mm vs. 280 mm), which is better.
On both flywheels it is possible to change the rim, but can you use a T300rs rim on a t598? The answer is yes, but you need a quick release adapter for the new generation of flywheels.
Force feedback
As for the forcĂ© feedback the answer is clear, the T598 has a little more strength than the T300. Although I’ll be honest, I expected a little more from this kit.
Compared to a 5Nm Fanatec, I feel that the Thrustmaster has less force or at least is softer.
The truth is that I am very fond of the T300 because it was a steering wheel that I enjoyed for years and I couldn’t be happier with it. But if you can afford to spend a little more the T598 is a better option.
The sensations in the T300 are also very good, you can feel the track with precision, the skids and the bumps .
Although if you want to get to the next level in simracing, you need to have a direct drive steering wheel. If you are a beginner with the T300 is more than enough to enjoy for years.
Thrustmaster T300 vs T598: Final Recommendation
Thrustmaster T598 vs T300? Our recommendation is to buy the Thrustmaster T598 if you can afford it, as it costs about 150€ more.
We also recommend changing the pedals for better ones such as the T3PA or T-LCM which are a real blast with load cell (up to 100 kg of force).
The T598 is a flywheel that has just been released and that guarantees that it will have updates for many years, which we believe the T300 will also have, but it may be that it will be outdated sooner.
If you are a beginner, it is clear that the T300 is enough for you. You won’t notice enough of a difference to take full advantage of the T598.
